Adam Fowler
"As an honoured guest from the BBC, you get to sleep with grandma".
As a presenter Adam's radio work over the last ten years has taken him from cycling the banks of the Nile to recording the sounds of the northern lights in the interior of Alaska; from the steam-driven gold mines of South Africa to the alluring hospitality of nomadic Siberian reindeer herders.
Closer to home he's reported for BBC Radio 4's You and Yours, the Food Programme, Word of Mouth as well as for BBC Radio Scotland and America 's National Public Radio. A former lecturer in Radio Production and Journalism at Stirling University he now takes vicarious pleasure in watching his former students stack up Sony Radio Awards.
Currently working mostly as a producer, his Whistledown programmes include, "Welcome to the Dark Side", "Girls with Skirls", "Conservation Pioneers", and “UK Confidential” although a review of his most recent Radio 4 programme as presenter, "Songs of the Sky" sums up his approach to programme making: "whimsical and wise".
