Alastair McKenzie
I once had to interview a tall man for a live TV webcast. As we were about to start he said "I don't know much about TV but I think we should be at the same height", which is how I found myself struggling to put intelligent questions to Douglas Adams (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe) while trying to keep my balance perched halfway up an aluminium step ladder.
Alastair McKenzie is Whistledown's web guru, updating the website, recording & editing audio podcasts and creating digital AV slideshow productions. His background is radio. His very first radio broadcast was a live commentary on a royal visit by HRH Queen Elizabeth to Torbay for independent local radio station, Devonair. He produced and presented a number of award-winning speech-based programmes there, before becoming one of the original presenters on Classic FM - the UK's first national independent radio station. He also made programmes and content for Classic FM's overseas stations in Holland and South Africa.
Alastair is a Web 2.0 evangelist/consultant and when not blogging, twittering or podcasting, can sometimes be found playing with his teenage son and friends from Scandinavia & Romania in the vast digital regions of the World of Warcraft... as a dwarf... (with a step ladder).
