Kevin Dawson

"at on the edge of the ridge, dangling our feet into the abyss. "Fetch" shouted Toksvig, throwing her half eaten corned beef sandwich over the edge. Chris Bonnington's Jack Russell terrier obediently followed."

Kevin Dawson is Director of Programmes at Whistledown. His career began shakily at the wheel of an ice cream van but speedily changed direction when he found himself driving his own theatre tour bus, to rave national reviews. A short stint with Planet 24 followed, at The Big Breakfast and The Word.

He then found his calling in the world of wireless. After a stint in local radio news, Kevin moved to BBC Radio 4 and has produced many of their flagship programmes including: Woman's Hour, Home Truths, The Food Programme and Loose Ends.

He has spent a fair amount of his time working on travel programmes; highlights include working alongside Bill Bryson, climbing in Cumbria with Sir Chris Bonnington and coming last at Le Mans. He has also produced a large number of outside broadcasts for Radio 4, and music sessions including Nick Cave, The Chieftains, and The Thrills.

Since joining us in 2007 Kevin has worked as Executive producer on much of Whistledown's output, as well as producing regular editions of The Reunion, Questions Questions and one off commissions.
