Patricia Lalla
"In my native London I can be found holed up in my garden shed writing... or playing my mandolin...or out and about freelancing...or partaking in a tipple of ale...I'm a bit of a Renaissance Cat."
For Whistledown Patricia travelled to the Moscow frontier to rub shoulders with Russian cosmonauts for her documentary about the once covert space-training centre named after Yuri Gagarin. Aired on Radio 4, Star City marked her debut as a radio producer. Patricia went on to produce a programme for Whistledown's coveted Reunion series, bringing together members of the British Antarctic Survey who discovered the hole in the ozone layer.
Patricia regularly sneaks inside the Houses Of Parliament to direct live television coverage of MP's grilling witnesses over 'matters of state'. And she creates programme trailers for the BBC television Channels.
Patricia originally left school with a handful of qualifications to became a runner for a small editing house in Soho, and has since gained an MA in Screenwriting at the London College Of Printing. She's made a couple of short films - one was nominated for Best Short at the Sitges International Fantasy Film Festival in Barcelona.
Her feature film script Bait is currently in development with NyAC - a new company for writer-producers. She is also writing her first book, a mystery called Quizzical Eyebrows.
