Stewart Henderson
"'You sound a lot taller on the radio’, said the bloke with a pierced lip ... and then there was the other glittering review: 'Amicable' they said in The Observer. I liked that"
Stewart Henderson, presenter of BBC Radio 4's 'Questions Questions' for the last seven years, is also a poet with two best selling children's collections to his name. His verse now appears in numerous Key Stage 2 and 3 anthologies for Primary Schools published by the likes of Macmillan, Oxford University Press, Collins and Bloomsbury. His poetry is also set on the syllabus for the Republic of Ireland.
As a songwriter, for the past twenty years Stewart has built up a critically applauded songwriting partnership with BBC Music Award winner, Martyn Joseph - Stewart's words being favourably compared by both Mojo and Q to artists such as Randy Newman and Radiohead. Radio 2's Bob Harris has also praised the 'lyrical intelligence' of the songs.
On the broadcasting front Stewart has presented various features for Whistledown including 'From Hairnets To Goalnets', 'Girls With Skirls', 'Jack Cardiff Speaks', 'Dan McGrew - Who Are You?', and 'Not Now, Arthur'. His co-production credits include 'Stanley, Albert and The Lion', and 'Farewell To Winston' which is now available on BBC Worlwide.
He still can't drive a geared car.
