Podcasting - Whats it all about?

"Podcasting" is a portmanteau word coined in 2004, that combined two words: "iPod" and "broadcasting."

 

The editors of the New Oxford American Dictionary declared "podcasting" their 2005 word of the year.

 

It’s the distribution of audio or video files, such as radio programs or music videos, over the internet using either RSS or Atom syndication for listening on mobile devices and personal computers. Podcasting enables organisations to communicate directly to their clients, or audience, using the unique qualities of audio.
